Pearl Harbor

Arizona Memorial

So today is the sixty-fouth anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Having visited the memorial while I was in Hawai'i, this one has some more significance for me.

When it was attacked, 2,571 people were killed, 188 planes destroyed, and 12 battleships damaged or sunk. That's a whole lot of damage.

Just think about that tonight, when you're not doing anything. More than 2,500 people died so that you could have the freedom to sit down at home and read, write, and blog freely. Think about that.
