Addendum

This post is a follow-up to my previous post, which mentioned the company Magnatune in passing.

Basically, Magnatune is a record label company. However, it is entirely online-based, and uses open source principles. It releases all music under a Creative Commons license, specifically, CC-BY-NC-SA, which states that you can remix any songs you find on it, but you may not make money and you must attribute the work.

But wait, there's more! You can listen to any of their music by streaming it free off their site! This is quite possibly the coolest thing. While you may not be able to take it on the road in your iPod or such unless you purchase it, the "try before you buy" concept for music blows my mind.

And its still better. When you do buy the stuff, they ask you how much you want to pay, between $5 and $18. $8 is recommended, and while you might think they get only $5 from each album, they say the average is $10! Man, I need to buy me some of this stuff.

From what I've heard so far, Falik is pretty good (kind of a Middle Eastern electronica), and Doug likes Brad Sucks.

Everything is Falik to you. Seriously, though, they're good.

Ehren Starks is also good.

Indeed they are. Just don't listen to The Wretch. Painful ambient industrial noise.
